PROGRESS

This post will be exploring what I would do differently for A2 in five specific areas. As well as analyzing my progress from the preliminary task to A2.

CREATIVITY 
Our creativity definitely improved from the preliminary task to our opening. This is evident when watching the two products. Our ideas became more creative as well as our camera use and editing styles. For A2 I plan to improve my creativity even more to make the trailer unique and intriguing.

POST PRODUCTION 
Our post production skills improved hugely. The preliminary task had very little editing done to it apart from putting the different shots together using a simple jump cut. Where as our opening was more ambitious. Our wipe screen transition was done in post production and worked well in the final product. As a group we became more familiar with the imovie software and were able to use new functions. However for A2 these skills can be even more improved. By spending time practicing on imovie I can discover even more options that it offers and learn how to use them.

DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
An iphone was used to film the preliminary task whereas a DSLR camera was used for our opening. We also used a microphone to record our sounds whereas for the preliminary we did not. The digital technology we used became more advanced for the opening. For the trailer we can use differnt technologies to make it look even more professional.

REAL MEDIA CONVENTIONS 
For the preliminary we did not look at any conventions of real media products. However for the opening we did and decided which we would conform to and which we would go against to create a contrast. For A2 we can look at even more and analyse the effect of the different conventions to see which will suit the vision we come up with.

RESEARCH AND PLANNING 
No research was carried out before filming our preliminary and very little planning was done. For our opening many blog posts of research were made before filming. We planned the filming with story board, shooting script and more. Even more can be done for the trailer to make it as good as possible. I will research more thoroughly and plan with greater detail. One way which the planning can be done better is by making a shooting folder.
