REQUIEM FOR A DREAM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rx0hzO1GL5E&t=12s
The teaser trailer is 1 minute 19 seconds, conforming to the conventions. The same line is repeated at the beginning of the trailer and at the end. Both time without music. This creates a cyclical effect and also a curiosity for the audience. The rest of the trailer is very fast tempo with many short shots jump cutting to each other. There are split screens used to show the different characters stories. A lot of close up shots on body parts such as the mouth and eyes are used. As well as closeups of different objects moving such as trees and bubbles. These put together with the fast repetitive music creates a sense of disorientation. The plot is not revealed and the characters are shown but not established. However themes of drugs, youth and sex are clear.

The theatrical trailer is 2 minutes 18 seconds. It is quite unconventional as it shows long scenes of dialogue with no non diegetic music. There are also montages of short close up shots of drug use with no non diegetic sound, only sound effects of the objects used. The plot is made clearer especially wiht the longer scenes and the theme of drugs is expanded. However it still leaves the audience curious as a lot is left unanswered.
